10 Nice Restaurants in Rotterdam, Netherland
Rotterdam is a city with a long history of shipping and some of the best restaurants in The Netherlands. Here are a few of our favorite things.

Restaurant de Jong
Restaurant, European

Under the Rotterdam train line (which is helpful for getting around) is one of the most beautifully decorated restaurants in the city. It is in an oddly sparse setting. Jim de Jong, a young restaurant owner and proud supporter of the Slow Food Movement, started De Jong. De Jong is committed to using the best ingredients that are grown in an ethical way. Many of the herbs and vegetables used in the restaurant are grown in its own private garden. When a restaurant serves a surprise prix fixe menu, the chef decides what to make, so the meal is always delicious and different.
Euromast
Building

This famous observation tower in Rotterdam is also one of the city’s most popular restaurants. It is the tallest building in the city. The restaurant has both standard “a la carte” ordering and a “surprise” prix fixe option with 3, 4, or 5 courses made from seasonal ingredients. And with a view of the whole city from every angle, eating at Euromast is one of the most exciting things to do in the Netherlands.
Brazzo
Restaurant, Dutch

This beautiful restaurant is in what used to be Rotterdam’s public slaughterhouse. This gives a modern restaurant an unexpectedly historic touch. The inside is tastefully decorated with a lot of quirky artifacts, paintings, and sculptures to show support for local artists. Even the dinner plates were made by artists in the area. And you can take your plate home if you like it. Brazzo is known for having a cozy, romantic atmosphere. It is a great place for couples to go out to dinner, and there are many nice bars and clubs nearby to end the night.
Parkheuvel
Restaurant, French, Dutch

Amarone
Restaurant, French, Dutch, Spanish, Mediterranean

After only a year in business, Amarone was given a Michelin Star, and it has kept that reputation by always focusing on fine dining. Amarone has a beautiful modern interior, great presentation, and a large menu with French, Spanish, and Mediterranean dishes. It has also been praised for being a great value, which isn’t usually said about restaurants that get a Michelin star.
Joelia
Restaurant, Dutch

FG
Restaurant, Bistro, Dutch, Seafood

The famous molecular gastronomer Francois Geurds owns this 2-star Michelin restaurant. It has a 9-course tasting menu with wine, cheese, and liquor pairings that are all perfectly matched. All of the dishes are made with the best local ingredients and are based on cuisines from around the world. The focus is on seafood and poultry, and the dishes are served on a series of small plates. An experience at FG usually lasts for a few hours, so it’s more like a night out than a dinner date.
Rosso
Restaurant, Bar, Mediterranean, French, Dutch

This stylish, romantic restaurant on Van Vollenhovenstraat serves French and Mediterranean food. Rosso has lounge-style seating and a lot of warm, red colors in its decor, which gives it a classy, modern, and laid-back vibe. It has a menu with about three or four dozen small dishes from which you can choose yourself or leave it up to the chef. Rosso is a great place to have a memorable dinner because the atmosphere is fun and there is sometimes live music.
De Harmonie

De Harmonie is a gem for people who like to eat outside. You can eat in their charming par terre, which is surrounded by flowers and trees for a truly private and intimate experience. The interior is simple, but there are some amazing pieces of modern art and beautiful views of the Rotterdam canal that add a romantic touch. In addition to beef, seafood, sweetbreads, cheeses, and fine wines, their menu has a lot of vegetarian options.

Ter Marsch & Co
Restaurant, Bar, European, North American

Ter Marsch & Co is known for its wide variety of steaks and hamburgers. Their “Burgeresse” on brioche bread was named the best burger in Holland, and the restaurant has quickly gained a reputation around the world for its high quality, great service, and upscale take on the traditional American hamburger. Ter Marsch is the place to go for Rotterdam’s best burger. It has a comfortable, modern interior, seating outside and at the bar, and great views of the Rotterdam canal.
