Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Heart Rock Maui
This beautiful piece of nature is a hidden gem in Hawaii. It is on the northwest coast of Maui. It’s a romantic place for couples to ask each other to marry them. Maui’s Heart Rock is a dream for people who post a lot on social media sites like Instagram. And any traveler should put the natural phenomenon on their list of must-see places.
Main attraction
People come to this part of Hawaii for many different reasons. Nakalele’s Blowhole is the main place that brings people in. It is a big tourist attraction and also very dangerous. The blowhole is a natural seawater geyser that is about the size of a car tire. It is in a great place to see from a distance because it is right next to the ocean. In the mist around the blowhole, rainbows can often be seen. And from December to May, people can see whales jumping in the distance.
The water shoots up to incredible heights, sometimes as high as 100 feet. Before going to the area, you should check the surf report to see how high the tides are. When the tides are high, the area can get very slippery.
It’s smart to wear shoes you can trust and stay away from the blowhole. People here tend to underestimate the power of nature, and some have died when they were washed out to sea or stood right over the blowhole. A simple way to keep yourself safe is to only step on dry rocks. The rainbow in the mist might make you want to get closer, but we wouldn’t recommend it.

A hidden gem
Maui’s Heart is just to the right of the Nakalele Blowhole. The erosion of the volcanic rock shelf over time has made many interesting structures in this area. It’s almost hard to believe that the Heart Rock was made by natural forces because it is so symmetrical.
The heart is about a foot wide and is about three feet above the sloped ground. Anyone who makes the hike down can get some great pictures there. The structure is close to the ground and easy to get to, so it’s never too hard to get the perfect shot. Taking the picture at eye level with your heart will give you the best picture of the island of Maui’s different landscapes.
The view of the landscape from the heart is almost too good to be true. It makes the mountains, ocean, and beach in the distance look great. Some people have even said they saw a rainbow going straight through the heart, but you’ll have to go there to see that for yourself.
You can get to Nakalele and Maui’s Heart in many different ways. The best and safest way to get there is to drive eight miles north from Kapalua and park at the 38.5 marker. There are no clearly marked trails, but if you go down toward the ocean, you’ll find the site right away.
